Terms of Use

What this site is
weddnesday.org is a small, free, non-commercial community site for biweekly Wednesday meetups for expats in Bucharest, Romania. It is run by Tudor, who can be reached at tudor@weddnesday.org. The site lists meetups, lets people sign in and RSVP, and lets volunteer organizers see who is coming to their own event.
By using the site or signing in, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, simply read the public pages without an account.
What this site is not
- It is not a ticketing platform. There are no tickets, no bookings and no reserved seats.
- There is no guarantee that any event happens. A meetup can be cancelled, moved or shortened, sometimes at short notice.
- Venues and times can change. Always check the latest announcement before you travel.
- It is not a dating service and not a professional or legal advice service.
Accounts
Accounts are optional. Reading the site needs no account. If you make one:
- One person per account. Do not share an account or create accounts for other people.
- Use an email address you actually control and can read, so we can reach you about your account.
- Do not impersonate anyone, and do not use a name that suggests you represent the site or an organizer when you do not.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Sign-in is through Google, Telegram, or an email address and password. What is stored, and what is not, is described in the privacy policy.
Display names and anonymity
You can set a public display name that is different from the name on your account. This display name is what other people see next to your RSVP. Use it if you prefer not to have your real name shown publicly. Your email address is never shown publicly. The attendee list with names and emails is visible only to the organizer of that city, and attendee counts are public.
Organizers
Organizers are volunteers who are given rights city by city by the site owner. They can see the attendee list of their own events only. They are not employees or agents of the site, and they do not act on its behalf. Their rights can be removed at any time.
Conduct at events
Meetups are informal and open, but they are not a place for harassment, threats, discrimination or pressure of any kind. Organizers can refuse entry, or ask someone to leave, if their behaviour is a problem for other guests. That decision belongs to the organizer on the night and does not need a justification.
You attend at your own risk and you are responsible for your own belongings and your own travel.
No payments
The site is free. There are no payments, no ticketing, no donations collected through the site and no advertising sold. If anyone asks you for money in the name of the site or an organizer, treat it as a scam and tell us.
Content and photos
Photos are sometimes taken at meetups and may be published on the site or on the community channels. If you do not want to appear in them, tell the organizer at the event, or write to tudor@weddnesday.org afterwards, and we will remove the photo where we can. Ask before you publish photos of other people.
Do not post content that is illegal, abusive or that you do not have the right to share.
Removing accounts
We can remove accounts that spam, harass other people, or fake attendance at events. You can ask for your own account and data to be deleted at any time by writing to tudor@weddnesday.org. Deletion also removes your RSVPs.
Liability
The site is run by one person, in his own time, for free. It is provided as it is. We try to keep it online and correct, but we cannot promise it will always work or that event details will always be accurate. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses connected to using the site, to a cancelled or changed event, or to anything that happens at a meetup. Nothing here limits rights you have under Romanian or EU law that cannot be waived.
Changes to these terms
These terms can change as the site changes. The date at the top of this page shows the current version. If a change matters for your account, it will be mentioned on the site. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new version.
Law and contact
These terms are governed by Romanian law, and EU law applies where relevant. Questions, complaints or deletion requests go to tudor@weddnesday.org. For data protection complaints you can also contact the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP.
